Capacitive Deionization is an eco-friendly technology that removes hardness ions consuming relatively small energy, and that have characteristics of no requiring secondary regeneration wastes, high pressure pumps.

Features:- Needed less energy for the desalination process because high-pressure pumps are not required

- Possible to make use of solar/wind power to power desalination units in remote areas due to the low energy required (potentially 30% to 60% less than the existing tech.)

- More e¬cient for applications such as boiler water treatment because the carbon electrodes can withstand much higher temperatures than membranes.
