Unlike the halogen system used currently in the auto industry, the HID system does not use a filament to produce light.Instead, the HID system produces light through electronic discharge via high voltage.Interpower Co., Ltd. has been manufacturing the ballasts used to produce high voltage discharge which is vital to maintain current and power stability.Interpower’s ballasts are mainly divided into 2 types.One is an integrated type that includes a starter (igniter) inside the ballast; the other is a non-integrated type which has the starter (igniter) located separately from the ballast.
In the integrated type, the installation of the ballast is more convenient.The non integrated type is, however safer due to a separate starter (igniter).
