Description Rust Cemical Rustec-VCI POWDER is water-soluble powder with Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor for wet or dry corrosion protection of ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals in recessed areas, interior cavities and voids. Features Provides mono-molecular inhibiting layer. Protects up to one cubic meter per 50-100 grams of powder. Provides up to 24 months of continuous protection. Does not contain silicones, phosphates, nitrites, or heavy metals. Benefits Rust Cemical Rustec-VCI POWDER provides an extremely efficient wet or dry method to protect metals within an enclosed space. The VCI vaporizes and then adsorbs on all metal surfaces, reaching every part of the metal surface, including recessed areas and interior cavities. Vapor inhibiting action protects inaccessible and recessed surfaces. Protected products can be shipped to customers without removing powder. No regeneration required, effective up to 24 months. If VCI layer is disturbed by moisture or opening the enclosed space, the layer is replenished by continuous vapor protection. Some or no surface preparation required. Prevents further corrosion of the pre-coated and painted surfaces. Easy to apply. VCI layer does not need to be removed prior to processing or in use. If required, powder is easily removed by air gun or water flush; liquid removed by flushing. Provides liquid, interface and vapor-phase protection above the liquid level. Does not increase alkalinity. Provides economical protection for various applications. Applications RUST CEMICAL Rustec-VCI POWDER is used for wet or dry protection of internal cavities and voids that can be covered or closed after application Rustec-VCI POWDER is used to economically protect large internal cavities and voids. Tubular structures, pipes, and vessels. Internal surfaces of compressors, turbines, engines, tanks, boilers, heat exchangers. Steam condense lines, closed circuit heating and cooling systems. Equipment during and after hydrostatic testing. Parts, components, and completed assemblies during shipping and storage. Hydro blasting. Rudder inside, Rudder Horn etc for shipbuilding. Additive to standing water. * NOTE : Rustec-VCI POWDER should be removed prior to welding or other high temperature processing. Method Of Application Apply in powder form by dusting, fogging, or sprinkling. Apply in aqueous form by spray, brush, flush, or immersion. After application, simply cover, close, or seal the interior cavities or void. Fogging is easily achieved by using a low pressure air hose and sandblast cup. Large, conventional sandblasting systems can also be used. For powder application with average environmental conditions, use 80-100grams of Rustec- VCI POWDER per one cubic meter of enclosed space. The dosage can be adjusted according to packing conditions. For example, can be used at 50g/m3 for fully sealed space and should be increased until 100g/m3 according to sealing conditions. For aqueous application with average environmental conditions, use 1-3% Rustec- VCI POWDER by weight of water. The dosage can be increased for more severe conditions. Method Of Removal When required, Rustec-VCI POWDER in powder form can be easily removed by using a low pressure air gun or by a water rinse. Typically, if applied in aqueous form, the product does not require removal. If necessary, a simple water rinse or flushing will be enough.
