Introduction Hollow sphere pigment HIQUE 2050which is developed as a paper-coating additive is free of APEO surfactant. HIQUE 2050 is supplied as emulsion of about 1 micron in particle size, and can be easily mixed with other paper coating materials. Specific advantages of HIQUE 2050 include: It provides coated paper with good surface smoothness, paper gloss, and print gloss. It gives coated paper better opacity and wet pick. Allows calendering to occur at lower temperatures, and therefore saves energy and extends the life of the calender. Because polystyrene is the main ingredient of HIQUE 2050, it remains inert during the recycling process. Matt Paper Coating Matt paper coated with Hollow Sphere Pigment is very popular with both domestic Korean and global markets, and HLC actively develops and supplies certain grades of Hollow Sphere Pigment HIQUE to the manufacturers of such paper.
