Dong Chung Ha Cho 'Cordyceps' The name of Dong Chung Ha Cho (meaning an insect in winter and grass in summer, translated in English word ‘Cordyceps’) is derived from fungi, which invade insects’ body and remain there during winter and come out like grass in summer.  Cordyceps, commonly known as caterpillar fungus (Cordyceps sinensis), is a genus of fungi; when a Cordyceps fungus or spore attacks an insect, other fungus, or a plant’s seeds, it makes endogenous sclerotia using substances inside the host as its nutrients and bears perithecia outside, which is called a Cordyceps mushroom.
