This together prevent a large quantity of solar energy to transmit inward building and consequently they reduce cooling and heating cost to keep the pleasant building internal environment. This work of sunscreen and glazing can be explained more specifically by G-factor Total Solar Energy Transmittance. The low G-factor figure represents that less solar energy is transmitted into the building and also the sunscreen & glazing work together efficiently.

Color of the sunscreens has an influence on G-factor. Darker colors absorb sun energy and transmit it inward building. On the contrary, lighter colors reflect sun energy. Therefore, darker colors are recommended to be used for exterior and lighter color screen for interior use.
