Samyang's Ulsan sugar plant dates back to 1955, when Maeam-dong was reclaimed as landfill. The plant is equipped with modern, automated equipment allowing for the highest quality sugar possible. Samyang sugar is produced for both household and industrial use, and continues to be well received among domestic producers of confectioneries, baked goods, and pharmaceuticals, and is also exported in large quantity to Hong Kong and other markets. Samyang sugar is commonly used in industrial and specialty products like bread and cookies, jellies, jams, creams and fruit wines. Products and Uses Refined white sugar : the most common form of sugar, produced as small granules of the highest purity. Yellow sugar : an especially tasty sugar, commonly used in confectioneries, breads, and for other cooking uses. Brown sugar : containing inorganic additives, this sugar is used in cooking that desires a special flavor. Coffee sugar : sugar in clusters fashionable packaging for use in table settings. Slow-melting sugar : used for the making of fruit wine. Crystal sugar : an ingredient used in the making of specialty confectioneries. Sugar cubes : used in coffee, tea, and traditional teas. Caramel-flavored sugar : fine granules added in chewing gum and creams.
