General Characteristics Environmental friendliness : OS-502a, a hydrocarbon blend refrigerant has been proven to be an environmentally safe refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential(ODP)and near zero global warming potential(GWP). Drop-in replacement : OS-502a offers a similar volumetric capacity as HCFC-22 enabling the use of HCFC-22 compressors without any change due to similar thermodynamic properties as those of HCFC-22. Compatibility with mineral lubricant : After thousand hours of heavy load test, autoclave test and compatibility test with several lubricants in domestic air-conditioners and test rigs, no problem was found in all parts of a compressor and no degradation of mineral oil was shown. Also OS-502a is fully compatible with a mineral oil of ISO viscosity grade 22 or 32 which is readily available from any local vendor. Economic benefit in operation and maintenance : The mass flow rate of OS-502a in refrigeration equipment is lower than that of HCFC-22 and the amount of charge is reduced by 50% as compared to HCFC-22. High Energy Efficiency : OS-502a provides 2.0% higher COP than HCFC-22.
