This machine is designed for the final sizing of the ring-gear blank. It consists essentially of a cone with 8 flits, slotted table, set of 8 jaws, drawber, hydraulic cylinder with pistion and hydraulic pumping system with motor and controls. The sizing or forming operation is accomplished by wedge action of the cone against the inner jaw surface as the cone is drawn under power between these surface and thus forces jaws radially outward.
The cone is connected to the piston by a drawber and the cone and drawber are easily removable.
