These clad plates (or clad forgings) are usually used in chemical vessels, reactors, heat exchangers as a vessel itself or tube sheet for heat exchangers or condenser etc. In order to get resistance for corrosion, heat or wearing, these stainless steel clad material are explosively welded[bonded] on the relatively inexpensive carbon steel. So that we can reduce the cost, at the same time, the surface attached on the severe environment can endure the life time of the main equipment such as heat exchanger, condenser, boiler. The bond strength between the dissimilar material is strong enough to keep away from debonding or any external stress such as heat, bending, vibration or hard impact. These are most commonly manufactured products in DHM.
