Power steering components

This component changes the rotary motion transmitted, from steering wheels to straight rotary motion, to straight alternating force in order to rotate the front wheels of the vehicle. This steering gear prevents that the shock from the road is not directly transmitted to the driver through the steering wheel during driving a vehicle and, as the emotional requirements of the drivers for steering property has recently been elevated, it is considered to be the representative emotional product among the numerous automobile components.

The driver turns the front wheels to the left or right through rack gear, tire rod, and knuckle arm by changing the rotary motion, produced by the motion of steering wheel, to straight alternating force through rack & pinion. In case of power steering, the driver may more easily steer the vehicle using the hydraulic supportive force generated by the pump that is driven connected with the engine crank through a belt. At this time, a rotary valve device is used to determine the direction of supportive force; the torsion bar, spool shaft, and valve body configuring this valve device are important parts that determine the steering feeling and steering properties.
