| BJ Silk information Our company, BJ Silk, is located in Jinju city (Ref. of Korea), and the factory is also placed right there. The history of silk fabric in Korea is very long, and like other countries, our ancestors considered silk as the highest quality and the most expensive fabric of all. Although it’s not known worldwide, the history of silk manufacture in Korea is extremely long and especially that of Jinju city is over 100 years. And Jinju is one of the 5 silk trading center in the world along with Como (Italy), Lyon (France), Nishijin (Japan), Hangzhou, and Suzhou (China). Right now in Jinju city, there are almost 100 factories which produce high quality silk fabric, and our company is one of the best within all of them. So we have not only modern high technology but also traditionally accumulated weaving technique that enables us to fabricate unique products. Our company has been established in 1995, and the president worked for about 38 years in this field. Then, since our predominance has been acknowledged not only in Korea but also to other countries such as USA, Japan, UAE, Canada, China, and etc., we are now making great relationship with companies in there. Since more people are looking for eco-friendly products that have become a fashion trend nowadays, we consider that, unlike synthetic fibers, the silk fabric which is obtained only from the nature will constantly remain as a preferable textile to our present and future customers. Thus, we do our effort to produce nature close and healthier fabrics, and thus contribute to the health of human, environment, and universe. Furthermore, since 2001, our company is included in important government research projects with Korea Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (KMCIE), to develop high-quality and new skilled silk fabrics. We are always concerning about newly developed fibers to improve the quality of standard silk fabrics, and trying to develop new type of silk yarn. Thus, based on the high-quality human resources, abundant experience, and co-operation with other research groups, we are not only constantly producing new designs and good products but also trying to produce new innovative fabrics. We have professional skill and knowledge to produce not only 100% silk fabrics but also other diverse blended fabrics which silk yarn is mixed with other natural yarns such as cotton, wool, linen, cashmere, bamboo, and etc., and with synthetic yarns such as rayon, spandex, nylon, polyester, and etc. Since the importance of natural environment, health, organic products are emphasized more and more, we try to use more natural materials and make healthier products by increasing the use of natural dyes. We also are constantly trying to develop our blending technique and produce advanced materials to become a new leader in the fabric industry. Our products are mainly used for women’s wear, and we also produce scarves, neckties, men’s wear fabrics, and interior fabrics. In domestic market, our company has an excellent reputation and we supply our fabrics to world famous fashion designers such as Andre Kim, Lie Sang Bong, Jin Te Ok, Son Jung Wan, and etc. We also supply our products to famous Korean fashion brands like Michaa, BeArt, Minimum, Obzee, and etc. Besides the relationship with those famous top designers and brands, we sponsor our products to Korean TV broadcasts and movie studios, help them make movies’ and TV series’ costumes. In overseas markets, we export our products to USA, Japan, UAE, Canada, China, and etc and we are gradually increasing the relationship with them every year. We supply our products to world famous top brands such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, DAKS, Ann Taylor, J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Club Monaco, TALBOTS, Banana Republic, and etc. And to broaden our foreign customers, every year we participate at the international exhibitions such as Heimtextil, Interstoff, Material World, Preview, and Intertextile that are held in New York, Miami, Hong Kong, Shanghai etc, and got favorable reception and lots of order there.
