INDUCTIVE COMPONENTS_SMD INDUCTOR
What Is An Inductor
- Passive components that stores energy as magnetic field
Allow DC Current to Pass
Block AC current or change in current
Can be called “Chokes”, “Reactors”, “Coils” - Application
Part of DC DC converter (voltage regulation for circuit operation)
Coupled with capacitor for filter (noise suppression of surge currents)
Typical CIP Grades
- soft grades
CIP SQ
– standard grade, with silica dots – no coating, requires insulation
CIP SQ-I
– CIP SQ with phosphate insulation for improved core loss
CIP SW-S
– special coating gives high resistance (109Ω) and improved corrosion resistance
CIP SP-I
– insulated grade with higher permeability and higher core loss (bigger particles)
- hard grades
CIP EW
– standard grade with best core loss around 20 MHz
H – grades
– special grades with best core loss around 30 MHz
