Performance
By precisely design and interconnect shapes and dimensions of impeller, diffuser and related parts, the ST turbo compressor’s aerodynamic characteristics are achieved according to the actual operation environment, allowing enhanced performance and uniformly distributed efficiency across the operation range.
Surge occurs at much lower point of inlet air flows, therefore it not only has a wide range of operation range, it alleviates “choke” condition, resulting stable operation from 5kgf/㎠·g to 8.8kgf/㎠·g. It increases operation efficiency and energy reduction in real operation conditions.
Control
The ST turbo compressor offers constant pressure and load/unload control method by inlet guide vane (IGV) and surge control blow-off valve. It constantly monitors operation environment changes according to inlet condition and compressed air flow in order to maintain a certain pressure, allowing accurate pressure operation.
As illustrated in the picture (left), the shaded area (A-B-C) indicates the operation zone which compressor is precisely controlled by the IGV according to the set pressure of operation condition. When it reaches the minimum flow point (B), blow-off valve immediately opens for unload condition. Also, the IGC guides the inlet air to the impeller’s rotational direction, lowering energy consumption greatly.
Remote operation monitoring system (operation control system of central inspection office)
The operation panel of each compressor and computers in central inspection office transmits operation values by using an international standard communication method (Earther-net), allowing the operator to monitor and control the compressor’s operation status remotely. Also, various operation values and set values can be altered in the central inspection office for optimal performance when necessary.
The basic function is to monitor current operation value and all changes progress, record various data and to print. It can monitor up to 12 compressors. When needed, a client’s computer and SeAH’s computer can be connected through the internet to check the operation details of the compressors at the job site.
