How to Use C-Spine

How to use CRI technique

1. When applied as a CRI technique, 8 pressure poles must make a contact with suboccipital area between C1 (the first cervical vertebrae). At this moment, CV4 pressure points act the role in supporting up the cervical vertebrae slightly on the back of neck (boundary between the shoulder and the neck and maintaining the C-shaped physiological lordotic curve) of the cervical vertebrae.

2. When 8 pressure poles are positioned normally with lying straight on your back, pull C-spine slightly upward to the head for the continuous effect of traction. This can relax the tense or knotted occipitocervical muscles and cerebro-dura mater of spinal cord in the faster speed.

Note

When applied as a CRI technique, the more severe the patient’s tense or knotted muscles on the occipital region and C1 are, the more painful the occipitocervical region in contact with the pressure poles is. However, if you are patient for a few minutes, the pain disappears and the fastest effects are acquired when the poles touch the parts where pain is severe.

How to use CV4 technique

1. When applied as a CV technique, 2 pressure poles must make both external occipital regions which are the most sensitive to both side beneath the external occipital protuberance on the occipital bone and are contacted the pressure points of CV4. At this moment, CRI pressure points act the role in supporting up the cervical vertebrae slightly on the back of neck (boundary between the shoulder and the neck and maintaining the C-shaped physiological lordotic curve) of the cervical vertebrae.

If the tense muscles and cerebro-dura mater of spinal cord on the occipitocervical region is relaxed, you feel comfortable while the tense of muscles and dura mater connected to the waist and sacrum becomes loosened. C-Spine provides the safest and the most comfortable acupressure on the occipital region and the posterior neck by the patient’s own weight of head alone with the spine position and is helpful for the normal cervical curve and the circulation of CSF.

  • When you sleep on the side on C-Spine, let your ear placed on the concave area. It can help relax the tense muscles on the laterocranium.

When you have enough time

If you have enough time, experience CRI technique for more than 10 minutes first, and then try CV4 technique for more than 10 minutes.

When you don’t have enough time

If you don’t have enough time or you want to have faster effect due to too bad condition or you want to have the broader effect quickly, experience CV4 technique for more than 10 minutes from the first. Then, if most of discomfort disappears and you feel easier, you can try from CRI technique in order.
