DSME continues to lead the world's shipbuilding industry with expertise in building LNGC. The membrane type LGN carriers that DSME builds provides superior performance, fastest speed and excellent steering at lower building and fuel costs, to their peer group.

Equipped with the Integrated Automation System developed in-house to automatically manage all areas including loading/unloading, sailing, and safety, they guarantee safe sailing by utilizing the LNG simulator that allows prediction of various risks and the LNG status. DSME has its own manufacturing shops for cargo tank insulation boxes and INVAR steel processing shops.

The company takes great pride in having independently developed and designed all of the automated LNG production facilities that contribute to the higher quality and overall lower production cost. In 2005, DSME successfully built and delivered the world's first LNG-RV (Regasification Vessel), and became the first shipbuilder to have an annual production capacity of 14 LNGCs. DSME's next-generation LNGC in the range of 210,000 m3 was selected as the world standard for its class. The fact that the company won 9 out of the total 16 orders for LNGCs placed worldwide in that same year is yet another testament to its incomparable strength in technology and production.
