On-line patent, IP (intellectual property) search and consulting as well as IP education is possible within the WIPS Global system. The on-line patent search is easy to use and has an analysis service that is furnished with effective analytical tools. The search engine has data coverage with strengths in Korea, Japan and China. WIPS IP total service is the fastest growing intellectual property solution and source of expertise within Korea. 

The different analysis types each have very different types of features and some very in-depth. The claim analysis feature shows a diagram for users to conveniently analyze classes and reference relationships among claims for patents. The analysis offers a comparison function of claims per x-document and analysis function of keywords per claim. Users are able to analyze public and registered patents from the same patent x-document and range of rights for a claim. The claim analysis feature has a claim tree that displays intuitive independent and dependent claims and single and plural references. The claim keywords can be easily recognized. The claim comparisons are possible within the system with claims that have been deleted during the judging process or the claims that have been amended with new contents. 

In the citation analysis mode it is possible to customize the statistical analysis via the personalization of some fields. The information from the integrated patent citations from Korea, the US, Japan and European countries. The data is able to be visualized in terms of the citation relationship. The text mode enables customizable backward and forward citations. The visual mode displays the relations via a customizable timeline and depth map.  It is even possible to monitor a competitor’s portfolio and establish patent strategies and portfolios. It is also possible to view a competitor’s patent that may be pending, in fact any status.

In the different views there is a vast store of valuable information for search engine users to leverage. In the statistics and list there are customizable charts that display family data, of citations, under a variety of informatively chosen headings and there are also country profiles available for each family member of a family of citations. There was a time series view organized according to patent, filling date and each time-lined family member.  x-document comparison can be conducted in two separated windows under some selection conditions too.
