Plasma treatment is employed in some functions of the FCB system. During plasma surface modification the plasma is treated to a state that is required. This is the stage where one can strengthen the bonding. In the plasma descum process you can remove PSR or DF residue.  During the actual desmearing process carbon is removed and some back etching is possible. Oxide film removal can also be done via plasma. Finally, the actual plasma cleaning process is also where the system is able to be used. During the cleaning process all of the organic contaminants are removed.

The cycle of the system is to; first place the wafer for epitaxy, conduct lithography and etching, descum the plasma for thin film deposition, then for plasma cleaning, metallization, back grinding and dicing and then to probe and sort the wafers. This cycle performed by this model is also available in another model. The JSPCS-300 and the JSPCS-750 share some common features. The box type plase cleaning system is designed to be manually operated. Productivity is determined according to the volume of the chamber. The series uses a high pulse plasma power supply which is an improvement on the previous model of the range. The process time in this series is said to be reduced by 30-50% by innovations to the series. The JSFPS series of flow plasma cleaning systems have some common features. The flow series gives high productivity and convenience to users through the automated load and unload modules. The small and multiple chambers treat only one magazine at a time with each magazine containing more than 20 strips. The handling of the magazine is completely automated in this series and this has the added value of reducing defects caused through handling. The automated features make this series a prized addition to an automated factory setting. The additional vacuum plasma cleaning system is the JSIP-6M. The JSPDS 7000 series has some special features. In the 7000 series the structure of the electrodes is vertical and is said to flow at a precise temperature. The control the system exercises over the liquid assists in avoidance of heat damage.
