KT brings LTE service to the office for first time

Korean network operator KT Corp. has become the first in the world to install Long-Term Evolution network service in office surroundings to pave the way for smoother and safer communication. The service allows employees and customers to utilize the intranet of a firm through mobile devices in a secure manner, as it is operated separately from existing LTE networks used for noncorporate mobile subscribers. OCI COMPLETES HUAI’AN SOLAR PLANT — OCI president Huh Man (center) and company officials hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to mark the completion of OCI’s 10-megawatt solar power plant located in a 270,000-square-meter-wide crab farm in Hongze County of Huai’an, China. KT to invest in agricultural projects in Korea

KT said Monday that it has teamed up with ASO Farm Land of Japan to jointly develop a “smart farming theme park.” The Bundang-based KT said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which is non-binding, with the Japanese agricultural theme park operator for the project. Child abuse on the rise

Reports of child abuse have surged by 77 percent over the last four years, reaching 10,027 cases last year, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare this week. Child abuse is categorized into four types, although 48 percent of cases were categorized as involving multiple forms of abuse. By individual type, neglect was the most common, followed by emotional abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse. Peruvian mango exports to South Korea are set to get underway this season, after Korean authorities approved a phytosanitary protocol for the fruit today. South Korea’s rice production hit a six-year high in 2015 caused by greater yield per cultivated land, government data showed Friday.
